The Role:


An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Mental Health Professional to join the team at Forensic Clinical Service at Northern Health.

This role requires extensive experience in the provision of assessment and both primary and secondary interventions, for offenders or persons deemed 'high risk' in public mental health settings across a variety of program areas including community, rehabilitation and in-patient units,

The role is focused within our Specialised Forensic Clinical Service.

The role is for an initial fixed 6 month term at 0.8 EFT

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least 5 years post graduate experience in a relevant professional setting
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014, Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried Act 1997, Sentencing Act 1991, and other relevant legislation.
  • A thorough knowledge of current mental health approaches in working with mentally and or behaviorally disordered clients
  • Commitment to working with and delivering quality outcomes for high risk clients and those with a history of offending
