Join us for a role as an Urban Development Lead and drive impacting projects in Brisbane while advancing your career.

I'm looking for an experienced Principal or Senior Civil Engineer with a strong understanding within the urban development sector. Our clients who are a well-known engineering consultancy with a long-standing presence in Australia as well as the South Pacific, are seeking a dedicated Urban Development Lead in Brisbane. This role is ideal for a senior or principal engineer looking to make a substantial impact on the community they live in and move into a key role in not just the organisation but the sector as a whole.

About the Firm:

Our clients are an established consultancy, providing solutions across various private and public sectors for over 40 years. Their areas of expertise include Residential / Commercial Urban Development, Water & Wastewater, and Transport. With a commitment to exceeding, they carry a portfolio of landmark projects and are looking to expand further with a new leadership role.

The Role:

As the Urban Development Lead, you will lead business development efforts, secure projects, and engage with clients. You will oversee a team of 20 professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring team synergy. This role offers a pathway to a General Manager position with profit-sharing and shareholding opportunities.

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Extensive experience in urban development, including team management.
  • 10+ years of sector experience.
  • Strong understanding in Stormwater Drainage, Earthworks, Road Design, Subdivision Design, and Urban Development.
  • Exceptional communication skills for client engagement and team collaboration.
  • In-depth understanding of local standards and systems, including local councils and relevant authorities.
  • Proven track record in client relationship development.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) / National Engineer Register (NER) is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and time-management skills.
  • Ability to bring a team together and create an environment to work with a diverse team.
