Role description:

Due to sustained growth in our Urban Development sector, we are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about advancing city-shaping projects to join our expanding team in Australia.

Role accountabilities:

  • Managing client and contractor interactions through construction inspections and contract administration of selected civil design projects
  • Providing on-site engineering support through site inspections, overseeing quality assurance and safety of urban development or Defence projects
  • Actively pursuing new work opportunities for the business
  • Maintaining open communication with Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients to ensure effective project-related discussions
  • Resolving technical issues on projects, offering guidance to team members, providing input on risk assessments, and technical review reporting
  • Verifying that field installation works align with project specifications and design standards
  • Leading the design and project management of small to medium projects, or contributing to larger projects by collaborating with key stakeholders for optimal outcomes
  • Enhancing project performance, service delivery, technical and commercial outcomes, while conducting reviews to exceed client expectations
  • Contributing to the mentorship and development of junior engineers

Qualifications & Experience:

First and foremost, if you are passionate about enhancing quality of life and thrive on engaging in impactful projects that shape our cities, we want to hear from you. As a qualified engineer with a focus on urban development, you should possess:

  • Relevant degree (preferably in Civil Engineering) recognized by a relevant Industry Association or Institute Chartered professional status or equivalent, additional postgraduate qualifications are a plus
  • 7+ years of relevant project delivery experience in residential subdivisions, Defence infrastructure projects, or other civil infrastructure projects
  • Preference for candidates with Defence force background
  • Australian Government Security Clearance is highly valued
  • In-depth knowledge and application of design principles for earthworks, roadworks, stormwater drainage, and utility services in various landscapes
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing and coordinating multiple disciplines for civil infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in technical construction and contracts administration
  • Proven experience in site inspection and auditing with a focus on safety
  • Familiarity with software programs such as 12d, DRAINS, and MUSIC is advantageous
  • Excellent negotiation, networking, and communication skills specifically tailored to industry-related topics
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and Federal government/Defence standards and guidelines essential for planning and development processes
