This role will see you making a difference in the lives of vulnerable people, providing support coordination services under NDIS funding.


Your excellent people skills coupled with your ability to remain cool under pressure, and identify and manage competing priorities will ensure your success in the role.


A clear understanding of the community services sector, and the ability to communicate and negotiate with service users and their carers is required, along with a strong focus on reaching set goals and targets.


What's on offer:

  • An attractive base salary ranging from $38.28 per hour with competency based increments up to $44.95 per hour, plus 11% super
  • Minimum 28 hours per week up to a maximum of 3
  • Contract up until 30 June 2024, with the possibility based on funding availability of individual extensions up to 12 month intervals, to a maximum June 202

We are seeking:

  • Diploma in Case Management
    or similar.
  • Ability to undertake assessments/reassessments and coordinate brokerage services and undertake the function of case management for users.
  • Experience working in aged or disability care in the community (3+ years).
  • Ability to undertake the functions or phases of case management as defined by the Case Management Society of Australia.
  • Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills to deal with program clients and their carers.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Tweed Heads, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.

  • Diploma in Case Management or similar and experience working with complex service users and working in aged or disability care in the community
  • Previous experience in any of the functions or phases of case management as defined by the Case Management Society of Australia
  • A NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) screening clearance


Current Vehicle Licence
  • Car.
Demonstrated high level of report writing skills and self-management

  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level communication and negotiation skills particularly when dealing with program clients and their carers.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of a personal computer and electronic assessment tools
  • Current Working With Children Check valid in the state of NSW.
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of the Tweed Shire community care sector, including nongovernment and government organisations and informal and formal sources of funding and resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local aged and disabled services and understanding of issues affecting the local community.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special needs groups.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local government
