**What you'll be doing**
- Based between the Community and Hospital to provide medical, clinical and consultancy service in palliative care to inpatient and community based clients and their families within the Northern NSW Local Health District.
- Provide contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

**Where you'll be working**

The Tweed Valley is a subtropical oasis encompassing the rugged terrain of Wollumbin National Park, arty riverside villages, historic coastal towns and the gateway to the Gold Coast. The Ballina and Byron Shires include some of Australia’s most famous surf breaks and holiday destinations, while the hinterland is rich with vibrant communities and mouth-watering local produce.

**The Tweed Hospital** provides a range of healthcare services to the public including: acute and emergency care, surgical services, women’s care and newborn services, cancer and haematology services, intensive and coronary care units, Mental Health inpatient facilities, Aboriginal Health, and Allied Health Outpatient Clinics. As a regional referral Level 5 base hospital, we work closely with hospitals in Northern NSW and tertiary hospitals in Southern Queensland to support the healthcare needs of our community.

**Murwillumbah District Hospital** is a local community hospital established in 1903 providing a range of services including: Emergency Department, Operating Suite, Day Surgery, Medical and Surgical Inpatient Units, a Women’s Ambulatory Care Unit comprising Birth Centre, Antenatal Clinic and Gynaecology Clinic, and a well-appointed rehabilitation unit.

**Tweed Valley Hospital Development**

The NSW Government is investing 723.3 million in health for the Tweed Valley to deliver a new state-of-the-art facility with more beds and increased healthcare services, along with interim upgrades at The Tweed Hospital. The **Tweed Valley Hospital** will be a major referral hospital at the heart of the network of hospitals and health facilities across the Tweed-Byron region. It will provide the health services required to meet the needs of the growing population of the region beyond 2032.

**Selection Criteria**
- Eligible for full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Specialist Palliative Medicine with Fellowship of the relevant college, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Palliative Care Medicine in the Hospital and Community showing ability to communicate effectively with the Palliative Care patients and families.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the philosophies and objectives
