In the role of Manager (Legislation Reform) you will lead, manage, and work on projects that support TMR in developing key legislation, transport infrastructure projects, strategies, policies and plans for an integrated transport system across Queensland.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a legislative program to support the planning, protection, construction, operation and maintenance of transport infrastructure, corridors, networks and services including knowledge of related departmental, Cabinet, and Parliamentary processes, instructing the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel, and preparation of related documentation.
  • Supporting and contributing to the development of complex policy and legislative projects, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and government priorities.
  • Preparing cabinet submissions, ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, and policy and research papers for and on behalf of the Minister, the Director-General, and senior managers.
  • Representing the department in stakeholder working groups, committees, and forums on policy and legislative matters, fostering collaborative relationships and strategic alignment.
  • Providing highlevel advice and support to the Director on strategic and operational matters and providing guidance and support to other staff about policy and legislation issues for decisionmaking and strategic direction.
  • Developing a team culture that values performance, continuous improvement, and adherence to public sector values in the delivery of highquality services, actively engaging in performance conversations to drive improvement and excellence.
