About the role:
A vacancy exists in the above unit within the Parklea Corrections Complex for a highly motivated Administration Officer with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team.
Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.
The successful applicant(s) will be expected to provide Health records and information to internal and external customers of the Health Information Department as well as assist with other Administration and Clerical Task.
The position will also operate on a 7 day rotating roster.
St Vincent's Correctional Health, Parklea Correctional Health provides primary health, mental health and alcohol and other drug services tocustodial patients within the Parklea Correctional Complex.
The primary health services provided also includes population health, communicable disease management, radiology and a range of allied health services.
As part of the onsite Health Information Team you will work closely with the health team to ensure access to patient information and records in a timely manner.

- Recent experience in a hospital medical information department or administrative role.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate understanding and commitment to the concept of privacy and confidentiality of patient/client personal health information.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and achieve deadlines while factoring in the impact on other roles, all with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, while working effectively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to retrieve and file medical records, which may involve use of manual handling equipment and physical ability to use a photocopier.
