Norwest Private Hospital is located in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia.
The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility with an Emergency Department located in Sydney's Bella Vista.
The Role
Norwest Private Hospital is seeking a senior peri-operative scrub nurse to join the team as the Robotic Coordinator for the DaVinci Robotic surgery speciality.
This position will be instrumental in coordinating Robotic Surgery at Norwest and work in consultation with the Deputy Theatre Manager, Perioperative Services Manager and Perioperative nursing team and will be responsible for the collaboration of safe and quality surgical patient care.
As the Robotic Nurse Coordinator your responsibilities will include:
- Participation in a 7 day on call roster.
- Lead by example, demonstrating the professionalism and culture of Norwest Private Hospital.
- Ability to plan and facilitate the management of surgical lists.
- Robotic Instrumentation portfolio
- Liaising with surgical representatives and surgeons.
- Committed to quality improvement programs.
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of risk management principles.
- Committed to ongoing professional development and learning of the nursing team.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Knowledge of ACORN standards and current legislation.
The Department
The theatre complex consists of 16 state of the art operating theatres, and a standalone Endoscopy suite. Our specialties include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology and Vascular surgery
What you'll need to succeed
Essential qualities:
- Unrestricted registration with AHPRA
- Registered Nurse
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, on call and ad hoc Saturdays
- Advanced communication skills as part of a multidisciplinary team with a willingness to teach and preceptor staff
- Highly competent scrub/scout in a range of General, Thoracic, Gynae and Urological Robotic procedures with a minimum 4 years' experience.
- Post Graduate Qualifications in Perioperative Nursing
