Due to our continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Billings & Collections Team Leader to be a full-time member of our team based in our Brisbane Head Office in Spring Hill.


About the Billing and Collections Team Leader Positon:

The Billing and Collections Team Leader is responsible for supporting the centralised Billing & Collections team to ensure claims are billed accurately and collections are managed within a timely manner.

This role requires extensive health fund contract knowledge and a strong understanding of contract terms to ensure claims are paid within the expected timeframes.

The Billing & Collections team leader is responsible for ensuring best practice processes are followed within the centralised Billing & Collections Team.

The Billing & Collections Team Leader reports regularly to the Claims Team Manager and coordinates regular meetings with the site CEO and Administration Mangers.

This position is a full-time position and will be based at the CURA Head Office in Queensland.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service skills when dealing with patients, visitors, doctors and hospital staff
  • Knowledge of medical record management and billing procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of health fund contracts including levels of cover and patient eligibility
  • Skilled in effective written and verbal methods of communication
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of motivation in the achievement of set objectives in a supervised and unsupervised environment
  • To be punctual, reliable and keep absenteeism mínimal
  • Able to work flexible hours as required
  • Demonstrate effective organisational skills
  • Demonstrate willingness to initiate and support change within a team framework
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accurate data entry
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous management or team leader experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Previous experience in an administration position, preferable in the health care sector
  • Previous experience with patient administration systems or similar software
