About the Role
Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments, and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout property events. This position handles events of average complexity, ensuring seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales. Identifies revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. Supports and acts on behalf of the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in their absence. Serves as the primary contact for event planners on the property and is responsible for their experience.
Critical Responsibilities:
- Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.
- Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes team members' contributions.
- Ensures associates understand expectations and parameters.
Executing the Sales and Marketing Strategy
- Up-sells products and services throughout the event process.
- Participates in customer site inspections and assists in sales processes when necessary.
- Acts as a liaison between field sales personnel and customers throughout the event process.
- Assists with all group sales activities as needed.
- Address client queries and requests promptly and ensure immediate quotations are provided.
- Provide effective administrative support to meet sales targets and promote referral business.
- Maintain contact with Global Sales Office to submit leads within the Marriott International network.
Managing Profitability
- Forecasts group revenue and event income.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
- Interacts with guests to gather feedback on quality and service.
- Handles guest issues and complaints effectively.
- Participates actively in communication activities to foster excellent departmental communication.
- Ensures proper maintenance of business documentation.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- High school diploma or GED; minimal experience in a related field.
- OR
- 2-year degree in Hospitality or related major; no work experience required.
