Sedgman is keen to hire a technically minded leader with tertiary or trade qualifications to drive our portfolio of projects and meet our evolving business needs.
- As a result of business growth and a robust project pipeline, we are actively seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our dynamic and globally connected team.
- You'll be based at our vibrant South Bank Head Office but will need to travel frequently to our regional and interstate sites.
- While onsite, you'll be required to follow the project roster, understanding that standard shifts are 1012 hours plus breaks.
- Under the guidance of the Completions Manager, this key role supports the Project Manager by overseeing onsite commissioning activities to ensure efficient performance as per specified quality, planned schedules, budgetary constraints, company policies, and legal obligations.

Core Duties:
- Develop projectspecific commissioning test procedures & check sheets.
- Create an isolation matrix for equipment.
- Identify and document key risks and hazards associated with commissioning activities, implementing and communicating appropriate controls through the site's risk assessment process.
- Establish, maintain, and review effective management plans for the commissioning phase of the project.
- Develop commissioning planning, programming, and onsite completion schedules.
- Supervise and schedule the activities of Commissioning Supervisors, Commissioning Engineers, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality, time, and cost schedules.
- Coordinate site team activities and liaise with onsite staff to facilitate construction handover and complete commissioning processes.
- Collaborate with design and commissioning Engineers to modify design and commissioning systems/methods as needed during the commissioning phase.
- Oversee isolation permits and communicate isolations to the commissioning team and construction workforce.
- Review construction verification documentation and equipment condition with the commissioning team before commencing commissioning activities to ensure equipment safety.
- Identify, document, communicate, and address outstanding work (punch list items) from construction and commissioning activities.
- Resolve daytoday onsite industrial relations issues and escalate major issues to the Project Manager.
Who are you?
- Tertiary or Trade Qualification in an Engineeringrelated discipline.
- Extensive, onsite construction experience involving commissioning and subcontractor management within project environments, with a good grasp of project management practices.
- Experience managing other stages of project development such as procurement, design, and commissioning.
- Commercially astute and able to understand complex contract requirements.
- Instinctive leader, skilled at building connections across all business levels.
