The Opportunity


On behalf of a Federal Government Agency based in Geelong, Box Hill or Sunshine we are looking for multiple APS5 Program Support Officer's to join the National Delivery Team ensuring consistent experiences for clients.

This is an 18- month assignment. The role will paying $53.63 per hour plus super.


Working to support a new formed branch in the Agency, the Program Officer will be required to undertake complex work related to national and branch deliverables, delivering quality outcomes guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards and performance metrics.

At the APS5 level, you will provide supervision of other team members and assist in setting priorities.

At the APS6 level, you will be leading and managing responsibilities and managing the workflows of others in your team.


Responsibilities include:

  • Providing accurate and specialised advice, ensuring knowledge of and compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks across multiple portfolios.
  • Assessing and maintaining quality processes relating to service delivery, ensuring alignment to legislation and policy, and utilising change and risk management principles.
  • Coordinating and analysing information for the purposes of drafting branch level communications and/or high level internal and external communications including reports, advice, presentations and communications for Ministerial, Parliamentary and executive responses.
  • Collecting and auditing workforce planning and capacity data, reporting on staff lifecycle and confirming against financial, systems and people performance data.

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation

About You
To be successful in this role you will have;

  • Proven scheduling and time management skills with experience in managing projects
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving skills with the ability to be proactive and use critical thinking to navigate complex projects.
  • Experience building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a team and adapt quickly in a changing environment
