Our client is the leading building and construction accounting firm in QLD.

They act for a wide range of clients in this sector including builders, trades businesses, architects and designers, manufacturers, engineers, planners and developers - in essence, any business that falls within the building and construction eco-system.


As a firm, they provide the full range of tax, business services, bookkeeping and specialist QBCC compliance services to our clients.

They have also developed a unique CFO Advisory service, meaning they become a one-stop-shop for clients wanting industry specific advice from both a commercial and compliance accounting perspective - and a trusted commercial advisor to help them rescue or grow their businesses.


You will be responsible for a suite of clients, where you will drive the best financial and commercial acumen to assist your clients in their growth and aspirations.


Responsibilities:

  • Drive financial and commercial acumen to support client growth and aspirations
  • Deliver timely reporting and hold clients accountable for business change
  • Conduct regular facetoface meetings with clients to understand their needs and maintain strong relationships
  • Take a handson approach to driving change and witness the impact firsthand
  • Nurture talent within the team, from recruitment to career development
  • Support team growth and success through mentorship and career development frameworks
  • Receive strong mentorship from firm leaders and experienced CFO advisors
  • Previous experience in the construction sector is helpful but not required; thorough training provided
  • Unique opportunity for direct client engagement, team leadership, and personal development.

Skills:

  • Experience working in/with a business to diagnose current performance and financial systems, including funding and debt arrangements, cashflow position, accurate margin analysis, and readiness for growth and potential impediments.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and commercial goal setting, creating operational and financial KPIs tied to goals, financial strategy development and implementation, risk management, business buy/sell due diligence and financial policy development.
  • Demonstrated ability to have the "tough conversations" when required to achieve change.
  • Understanding of current market and operating conditions, competitor landscape, technology, and digital transformation opportunities,
  • Demonstrated ability to model and develop team culture and values.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CA, CPA, etc.)
