The opportunity
We have a new opportunity for a Portfolio Specialist, permanent full time role within Regional Delivery & Safety (RDS).

The role leads the development of improved benefit realisations within the IT portfolio and leads the overarching provision of expert strategic advice on the existing benefits management framework.

The role also provides expert advice with identifying, measuring, tracking and monitoring program, service and project level benefits.


The role is responsible to deliver solutions and capabilities that supports the execution of IT organisational transformation, project and program delivery best practices.

Your role will include

  • Scope, develop and implement processes to support and govern effective benefits enablement and realisation to ensure that the program meets objectives.
  • Provide high level advice on the existing benefits management framework and identify, measure, track and monitor program, service and project level benefits.
  • Provide assurance that all selected component projects are aligned to the agreed benefits strategy and map and advice on the impacts identified.
  • Engage with stakeholders as a lead consultant to support strategic business change within the Cluster by developing working practices which link benefits management, business case cost model, cloud consumption, commercial PO, ongoing OPEX impact, asset completion into efficiency planning, performance measurement and 'value for money' delivery ensuring benefit led project prioritization.
  • Monitor benefit realisation plans, recognition and benefit review schedules. Develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure benefit owners are in place and the benefits are profiled, communicated, understood and being managed.
  • Contribute to the technology strategy and provide well researched recommendations and advice to improve the delivery capability across IT.

About you
To be successful in the role you will

  • Have appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience
  • Strong experience delivering IT process improvement projects, programs and initiatives combined with exposure to building and implementing a new process improvement framework and knowledge of relevant principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders in order to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines while balancing competing priorities

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 9 ($142, $159, per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.??
