The Opportunity:
Under broad supervision this position is responsible for the provision of specialist engineering services related to marine/mechanical engineering in the support of the material remediation of the configuration baseline of the ACSSPO.
Responsibilities
- Investigate shortcomings in design, materials and system performance against contract specifications and participate in the development of solutions to resolve the problems.
- Review and comment on engineering changes, including supporting ILS documentation.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders including ACSSPO staff, LHD ship's staff, the In-service Support Contractor (Navantia), OEMs and Lloyd's Register in the course of your duties.
- Participate in the development and conduct of tests and trials to determine system performance against design intent.
- Provide specialist advice in support of the RP team members engaged in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Produce detailed technical reports and associated documentation as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Degree in electrical engineering.
- 8 years plus experience, preferably in a naval engineering environment.
- Able to work with in the Seaworthiness Management System.
- Qualified to hold a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) delegation
Mandatory Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA NV1 clearance at minimum
