About this Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive and passionate Editor to join our editorial and content team.

One of the most high-profile editorial roles in the media and marketing trade press, Mumbrella's editor leads the day-to-day running of the newsdesk.

This role is responsible for the content on the Mumbrella website, our daily and weekly newsletters, and is involved with a variety of other content.


The role is also responsible for managing the editorial team and supporting the growth of the team members in a positive and productive manner.


From reporting on big new campaigns to interviewing key executives on stage, chasing down exclusive stories to piecing together big features, there is never a dull day in this role or at Mumbrella.

Responsibilities include:

  • News gathering around the media and marketing industry in Australia
  • Researching the trends in the media and marketing industry
  • Building a significant network of close contacts from across the industry
  • Writing both short and long form
  • Contributing to Mumbrella events and awards, including content curation and moderating on stage
  • Building out Mumbrella's content offering across multimedia platforms (including but not limited to podcasts, video, social media and facetoface)
  • Representing Mumbrella in the market and at industry functions
  • Building the Mumbrella brand in the markets it serves and beyond
  • Speaking and providing insights into the media industry on Mumbrella podcasts
  • Working with the team to ensure Mumbrella is uptodate and free of typos and legals
  • Working with the team to monitor the comment stream and ensure comments are neither offensive nor libellous and conform to Mumbrella's strict comment moderation policy
  • Working with the sales team to identify revenuegenerating opportunities and help capitalise on them
  • Managing the roster of journalists to ensure the newsdesk is always staffed

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the media and marketing industry

  • Ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish strong professional relationships with flexibility and conscientiousness
  • Ability to lead a small team of content and editorial professionals and provide them with career and output guidance
