The Principal Adviser Offender Management will:
Oversee governance processes for programs and interventions.

Work with sites and operational Directorates to plan and monitor annual throughput targets for programs and interventions, with respect to available resources, external delivery targets and demand.

As required, coordinate activities associated with the Agency's accreditation panel to ensure all programs and services delivered to QCS meet approved standards and address prisoner and offender needs.

Oversee monthly reporting processes against throughput and SDS targets.
Implement and coordinate site monitoring processes in collaboration with Offender Intervention Unit.

Provide high level advice to the agency and encourage a culture of continuous improvement in service delivery, development and innovative and evidence-based solutions to offender needs.

Provide high level advice to the Agency regarding effective offender assessment, intervention and management strategies, including identification and responses to emerging risks.

Identify relevant trends and issues.

Monitor the quality of offender assessment, intervention and management activities which includes identification and reporting on relevant trends and issues.

Develop strategies and manage the provision of support and professional advice to maintain and improve the quality and consistency of offender assessment, intervention and management processes and other relevant professional practice issues.

Contribute to the preparation of strategic advice and ministerial and executive correspondence on effective offender management and assessment practices ensuring accuracy and timelines are met.

Demonstrate a high level of understanding of contemporary rehabilitation, offender management and professional practice issues, trends and practices.

Represent the Agency in negotiations with other Government Agencies and maintain partnership with key agencies as required to ensure the achievement of Government priorities and outcomes.

Collaborate effectively with other directorates in order to achieve strategic outcomes and to promote and support effective offender management practices.

Provide support and high-level advice to the Manager and Director on the development of group planning processes.

Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of work activities and practice issues impacting Specialist Operations, the Agency and operational units.

There are no mandatory qualifications for this position however a tertiary qualification in psychology, behavioural science or social sciences would be highly regarded.
