Contribute to the development, promotion and implementation of HRMOU's strategic goals and the delivery of the annual operational plan.

  • Provide high level advice and operational support to senior management and corrective services officers on the management of high risk offenders, case management and/or other intervention activities.
  • Provide advice or participate in District Office team meetings and/or case conferences pertaining to management of high risk offenders including practice supervision of case managers.
  • Provide clinical oversight including liaison with, and provision of instructions to, relevant external stakeholders.
Provide oversight of external service provision.

  • Assist managers with the identification of risk to the agency and the community by ensuring compliance with accountability standards and supporting the implementation of the risk management framework and processes.
  • Establish administrative procedures for the processing of information received into and generated from HROMU.
  • Manage preparation of reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and other correspondence for HROMU.
  • Conduct desk top reviews and quality assurance of the offender management practices for those on detention orders.
  • Develop and deliver training where required, enhancing the capacity of managers and staff in the management of high risk offenders.
  • Attend to public enquiries referred to the HROMU and where possible deal with and resolve these enquiries.
  • Manage the security and confidentiality of records and information in accordance with Information Privacy Standards.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of innovative and practical strategies, which support best practice in integrated offender management.
  • Monitor and audit offender management practices and records to ensure quality, continuity and consistency and assess compliance of operational sites with quality assurance indicators and internal standards.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback on a regular basis in accordance with the Agency's performance management process and procedures.
  • Support and develop a small team of professional staff through demonstrated competence in frontline people management techniques including providing mentoring, coaching and performance feedback and appraisal processes.
