About the Role

You will be responsible for providing advice and technical support regarding health and safety matters, specifically focusing on clinical manual handling (MoveSmart), across different departments within St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

Your role will involve ensuring that health and safety risks are minimized through robust and effective systems and processes.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of the MoveSmart training program
  • Offer support to clinical areas in addressing patient manual handling challenges
  • Review incidents and hazard reports, assist in investigations, and implement controls
  • Utilize data and evidence-based systems to identify trends across the organization
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders

Classifications for this position are as follows:

ZF4 classification ($107,962 per year, pro-rata for part-time)

VG3 classification ($ per year, pro-rata for part-time)

Your Contribution

  • Health professional with current AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated capacity to participate in a theoretical and practical training program
  • Flexibility to work with diverse teams and communicate effectively
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and exposure to data programs
  • Current National criminal history check, or willingness to obtain one

About Health Safety and Wellbeing Department

We are committed to ensuring compliance with health, safety, and workcover regulations throughout the organization. Working collaboratively with various departments, we aim to implement a leading health and safety management system across all SVHM workplaces. Our multidisciplinary team covers areas including work health and safety (WHS), patient manual handling, aggression prevention, wellbeing, injury management, emergency management, and respiratory protection.
