About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia's largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum.

We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being.

We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

About The Role
The Supporter Experience Officer will work toward increasing donor and supporter commitment to the ASRC.

Working closely with the Supporter Experience Coordinator, this role will be the first touchpoint for a range of donors across cash giving, regular giving, community and event fundraising, workplace giving, and in-memoriam gifts.

This role will be responsible for managing inbound queries, updating and managing donor communications, and response actions within our fundraising database, Salesforce.

The role is also integral to the timely, efficient, and accurate processing and reconciliation of financial transactions and receipts.
In addition, this role will be responsible for supervise the recruitment, training, and rostering of Supporter Experience volunteers to support the functions of this role
About You

  • Experience in delivering highlevel customer service (donor care) via a range of channels
  • Proficient understanding and experience of using Salesforce, or a similar database
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands and prioritise workflows
  • Experience in office administration and process management
  • A highlevel attention to detail with excellent accuracy
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Knowledge of the policy context of practice with asylum seekers visa categories/conditions, and the barriers faced by people seeking asylum in Australia
Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable.

Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia as well as previous experience working within a not-for-profit environment, would also be advantageous.
