About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Brand, the Manager of Media and External Communications is responsible for driving our external communications strategy in line with our business strategy and in support of our mission to build futures through sustainable steel

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage media relations for our Australian operations, including relationships with national, state and local media.
  • Develop and execute external communication strategies across the business
  • Advise on and support the development of clear and consistent communications including media releases, stakeholder communications and thought leadership
  • Partner closely with business leaders to build capability and develop communication plans
  • Participate in the development, launch and management of stakeholder events and activities
  • Work in collaboration with the GFG Alliance group communications team

About your experience:

  • Degree in journalism, communications, or related field
  • Extensive experience in corporate communication and media relations
  • A strong network of media contacts
  • Experience working with senior leaders and executives on corporate communications projects
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • An understanding of the government and policy environments would be preferable
