ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a global fund manager which is experiencing a period of growth and transformation.

They are currently needing an experienced Operational Risk Associate to join the team and support the growth of the business by continuing to maintain and develop the risk and compliance framework of the organisation.

Despite the role title, this is a managerial level position with responsibilities reflective of a senior professional within enterprise risk and compliance.


ABOUT THE ROLE


Reporting to the Director of Operational Risk, this 2nd line risk role will work closely across all business functions and regions as a key member of the Global Operational Risk Team.

The successful person will assist in enhancing the enterprise risk and compliance frameworks as they are modified and tailored to each business group to ensure the business adapts to new compliance rules and guidelines.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively build and deliver risk assessments and reports across the business and delivering key findings to relevant stakeholders;
  • Monitor and provide insight into riskrelated data, root cause analysis, KRIs, and internal/external events;
  • Supervising and leading timely closure of actions and other remediation efforts.
  • Participate in the design, changesand UAT testing of the new enterprise risk system supporting quality operational risk processes and reporting;
  • Monitor global industry and regulatory changes, evaluating company impact and promoting continuous improvement; AND
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders globally to digest technical information in a standardised manner.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, risk, compliance and/or legal background;
  • Ideally 57+ years in overseeing operational risk management frameworks;
  • This person will come from a Big 4 Accounting or funds management background, regulator or other consultancy firm;
  • Enhanced analytical, Exceland problemsolving abilities that lend to quality data inisghts and reporting;
  • Undersatnding of the end to end funds management lifecyle as it pertains to operational risk and compliance;
  • Solid knowledge of operational risk management standards; AND
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, specifically in riskrelated training, policies, standards, and guidelines highly advantageous.
