The Opportunity


This Government agency works with people with disability, providers and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive and effective regulation of service providers.


The Reportable Incidents Officer will be part of a dedicated team that monitors the response of registered providers to adequately manage any immediate risk to a person's safety and wellbeing, undertake assessment and investigation of the incident and follow up appropriately.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of a caseload of incidents, including engaging with providers, and liaising regularly with managers as to the management of caseload.
  • Support the development of advice to the Manager about trends, issues, individuals of concern and inadequate investigations by service providers.
  • Manage and resolve a caseload of complaints including assessing moderately complex complaints
  • Support the education and training function for providers in identifying incidents
  • Develop Productive working relationships with stakeholders

About You

  • Experience developing influential working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Sound analytical skills to evaluate reportable incidents, complaints and related issues and contribute to solutions, advice, and capacity building.
  • Highly developed organisation skills, with the ability to work in a highvolume environment and the capacity to manage competing demands and to meet deadlines.
  • The ability, and the confidence, to make sound judgements and decisions based on thorough research, problemsolving, innovation and evidencebased practice, to achieve the objectives

Applicants must

  • Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police check.
  • Be willing and eligible to obtain a security clearance to the level applicable to the position.

Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance.
