About the role:

The Knox Criminal Investigation Unit covers the Knox Police service area, including Knox, Rowville and Boronia Police Stations. The Unit consists of specialist detectives trained to investigate complex criminal investigations.

An opportunity exists for a person with administrative support skills and/or experience to compliment the team having a diverse, multi skilled role that demands empathetic communication skills combined with the ability to adapt to many variables.

The Investigation & Response Units are dynamic workplaces with ever changing workflow with competing priorities.

In the role you will be required to provide initial customer service, perform, and maintain accurate administrative records in a sensitive and confidential environment aligned to privacy and legislation.

Excellent IT skills will be required with a commitment to improve personal performance.

You will need to be able to work autonomously but work well in a team environment and have proven experience in word processing and data entry skills.

The successful applicant will report to and provide administrative support to the Unit Manager and Investigators.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting and advocating the professional image of Victoria Police when acting as first point of contact between internal and external stakeholders inclusive of the public.
  • Providing a wide range of administrative support functions to the team including but not limited to brief and correspondence recording and maintenance (manual and electronic).
  • Administrative support including recording, filing, archiving and storage.
  • Preparation of routine correspondence and statistical reports.
  • Management and logging of property.
  • Court attendance, as required to provide continuity of property processes
  • Providing executive support including participating in team meeting and recording of minutes where required
  • Other duties as directed.

  • Ability to maintain personal health, wellbeing a resilience.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • There is a part time (0.8 FTE) 60.8 hrs per fortnight, ongoing position available,
  • Position is located at the Knox Police Complex, 414 Burwood Highway, Wantirna South.
