The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is the voice of general practitioners (GPs) in our growing cities and throughout rural and remote Australia.

For more than 60 years, we've supported the backbone of Australia's health system by setting the standards for education and practice and advocating for better health and wellbeing for all Australians.


We foster the future of general practice through our profession-led, community-based training model for the Australian General Practice Training Program and other training pathways.

We train GPs to deliver quality, whole-person care to patients across Australia, support their ongoing professional development and provide a point of connection for GPs serving communities in every corner of the country.

About you

As our Advisory Lead, you will have a passion for ER/IR and love interpreting employment instruments and ensuring best practice approaches are implemented to deliver the right business outcomes.

You'll be a trusted business advisor who can work with all levels of an organisation and be able to lead a small team who are responsible for provisioning core timely and accurate HR services to the organisation.

Deep knowledge of workplace relations and associated risk and outcomes
Exceptional planning and organising skills with strong attention to detail.
High level and demonstrated conflict resolution skills and case management skills
A passion for process and continuous improvement
About the opportunity

Reporting to the Head of People Services, you'll work collaboratively with the People & Capability business unit and HR Business Partners to provide efficient, timely, accurate customer-oriented workplace relations advice and HR services to all RACGP employees.


In addition, you'll:

Lead effective and timely case management of employee queries, employee relations and industrial relations matters.
Advise line managers on industrial relations, employment relations and other generalist human resources matters
Lead and develop a team of P&C Advisors and P&C Coordinators to ensure HR best practice processes and procedures.
Contribute to the ongoing identification of improvements and implementation of HR processes, policies, and P&C collateral
Develop and maintain accurate data and reporting using HRIS (Chris21), ensuring any issues are rectified in a timely manner
