About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Team Leader to join our team. This role is based at our head office in Silverwater.
The Team Leader will provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to a culturally and linguistically diverse team of Support Workers who deliver the highest possible standard of care for vulnerable children in our care 24/7.
Some of the key responsibilities include;- Providing unparalleled service delivery and compliance while leveraging industry best practice, mandatory client practice frameworks, client feedback and Ministerial policy.
- Assisting with on call work (scheduling, cancellations, complaints, support workers with any queries or concerns) including assistance with client medications and prescribed treatment.
- Communicate relevant information to a geographically diverse team to ensure awareness of changes are known.
- Monitor team performance to ensure children and young persons in care access opportunities and engage in meaningful activity.
- Role modelling appropriate behaviour and practices.
- Respond to emergencies in collaboration with other workers in accordance with policy and procedure

This role requires travel around Sydney and some regional areas. Travel expenses are reimbursed._

About You
- A minimum 2 years' experience in residential/respite services in a leadership role
- Demonstrated resilience and flexibility to adapt to unexpected changes
- Exceptional emotional intelligence to facilitate relationship and rapport building
- Effective communication and people skills
- Familiarity with current approaches to behaviour management and restrictive practice
- Excellent written and verbal documentation skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Excellent understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation including your responsibilities as a leader
Your Requirements
- Diploma or higher qualification in Child Protection, Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services or other relevant area
- Recognised Trauma Informed Care training/qualification
- Current Australian Drivers License
- Current National Police Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Community Services Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
