The Team


You will join a high performing, collaborative team that facilitates the readiness of the agency and the proper conduct of electoral events, upholding the Electoral Integrity Framework Reporting to the Director, Operations.

The Opportunity


We are looking for a strong leader who is agile, self-motivated and results-driven to manage state election planning, delivery and evaluation in SA.


You will be responsible for focusing strategically on the agency objectives to facilitate the adoption of best practice across the broader leadership network while also leading your team in project management, financial procurement and logistics to enhance both business as usual and election planning activities.


During an electoral event, you will also need to be responsive and show professional resilience and personal drive to deal with the high demand and volume of work generated at event time.

Suitable applicants may be considered for future opportunities with the AEC in South Australia. Roles available will be dependent on the changing business needs and requirements of the AEC. Future opportunities may be filled on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis.

To excel you'll have:

  • Proven leadership and people management experience and skills, preferably during major logístical events. Ability to lead, manage and develop capabilities, encouraging career development and embedding professionalism.
  • A positive attitude and demonstrated ability to respond quickly to change and achieve objectives with quality outcomes in dynamic and challenging environment. Experience in managing and delivering results within tight time restraints and with competing priorities, displaying resilience by remaining positive, persistent and focus on achieving results despite setbacks while working under pressure.
  • Confidence and ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and lead negotiations with team members, colleagues, business areas and external stakeholders. Ability to promote ideas and expressing opinions, information and key points clearly and responding quickly to stakeholder needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and a strong commitment to facilitating and driving working collaboratively within a team to achieve positive results and support the AEC's strategic direction. Ability to acquire knowledge in electoral legislation and operational requirements.
