Salt has teamed up with a Global SaaS organisation based in Melbourne who is currently seeking a Regulatory & Compliance Lead to join one of their teams on a permanent basis.

Our client is currently going through an exciting period of growth and are in the process of building out a new hub as they look to revolutionise the Energy sector by building sustainable and affordable solutions, helping to reduce carbon emissions.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be working on a SaaS technology platform designed to revolutionize how energy retailers operate globally. Your role involves providing expert knowledge on energy retailer compliance and regulations for both gas and electricity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support product and engineering teams in building a compliant product for the Australian Retail Energy Market.
  • Contribute to platform design with compliance as a core focus.
  • Maintain and deliver a robust compliance management framework.
  • Lead oversight and analysis of the regulatory environment.
  • Communicate jurisdictional and fuel differences between regulations.
  • Manage regulatory change projects in line with reforms and initiatives.
  • Communicate regulatory changes and support the development of practical solutions.
  • Stay updated on legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify and assess compliance gaps and risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Conduct regular compliance functionality assessments.
  • Provide policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into business processes.

About You

Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in regulatory compliance within the Australian Retail Energy industry, along with a comprehensive understanding of energy market regulations and compliance standards.

Key Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of the Australian Retail Energy market's regulatory landscape.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks and the ability to navigate and interpret legal documents.
  • Experience in planning and executing internal audits in the energy sector.
  • Proven track record in risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Experience working with Australian Market regulatory panels.
  • Demonstrable leadership in embedding compliance objectives into business processes.
  • Self-starter with a flexible approach.
  • Passion for developing technology solutions for energy retailers.
