Your roleAs an

Regulatory Compliance Lead

at the SEC, you will be responsible for supporting the SEC business in meeting their regulatory compliance obligations.

Specifically, you will be developing and implementing the broader compliance framework that will ensure the business complies with their stipulated requirements and facilitates reporting to senior management on the business's ongoing regulatory compliance status.

As the SEC grows, there is an opportunity to build and lead a team to support its future activities in this space.

This role can be based in either our

Melbourne CBD

office or our regional office located in

Morwell .

What you will do:

Be the first point of contact for all regulatory and compliance advice to the different SEC business areasSupport the review and update SEC obligations register with the SEC business areas.

Develop and provide compliance reports to senior stakeholders in the business.
Monitor and interpret relevant regulatory industry and business regulations that would apply to the SEC business.
Review and support any new products or business activity to ensure all regulatory compliance obligations are considered.
Assist in the development, rollout and monitoring of the compliance training programConduct compliance risk assessments.

Provide advice and support to the business on the SEC controls assurance framework and assist in executing the annual controls assurance program.


Who you are:

Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:Strong experience with regulatory compliance, preferably in a high regulated industry.

Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, risk management, information systems or any other relevant degree as minimum.
Proven leadership experience and ability to partner and develop relationships within the business.
Previous experience in building and managing regulatory obligations registers.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical skills.

Highly Desirable:
Experience in an Australian east coast energy retailer or gentailer.
Knowledge and experience with the National Electricity Rules.

Knowledge and experience with the National Energy Retail RulesCertifications with any of the following institutes - ACI (AML/ CTF), GCI (CCM), CCB (CCEP) or OCEG (GRCP) – will be look at favourably.

The energy transformation will create thousands of jobs.

The SEC will play a role in attracting and training our future renewable energy workforce, including through the SEC Centre of Training Excellence.
