Treasury, Markets and Commodities Risk is the function that provides the line 2 risk oversight of the Group Treasury, Global Markets and Commodities, Trade & Carbon functions within CBA.

This includes the risk domains of Market Risk, Balance Sheet Risk Management, Treasury Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk.

The team includes policy development, independent oversight, reporting, regulatory obligation management, and oversight of market risk models and capital calculation.

This role is in the sub-team focused on Capital and Counterparty Credit Risk.

This role is pivotal in supporting senior management in the oversight (review, challenge and accept) of the Group's capital adequacy and counterparty credit risks to ensure that they remain within relevant risk frameworks, and to support the business in the development, implementation, and communication of capital and counterparty credit risk management strategies.


Your day could look like but not limited to:

  • Analyse the credit risk profile of derivative and repo transactions / portfolio, including risk mitigants in place, such as collateral, netting and margining;
  • Ensure transactions /exposures are in compliance with credit risk management frameworks, policies and procedures, limits, and guidelines.
  • Provides line 2 risk oversight of the capital management processes, including capital forecasting, ICAAP, capital stress testing, and recovery & exit planning.
  • Supports stress testing and sensitivity analysis of counterparty credit risks and collateral holdings.
  • Supports interpretation and compliance with regulatory obligations across the counterparty credit (APS180), collateralisation and margining (CPS226), capital adequacy (APS110, APS111) and recovery / resolution planning (CPS190, CPS900) prudential standards.
  • Uses quantitative analysis methods and related technologybased tools to analyse data in order to effectively identify, monitor, measure, and manage credit risks.
  • Supporting effective risk governance through the Counterparty Credit Risk Committee
  • Provides insights to leaders and the business.

  • An understanding of markets products, capital and counterparty credit risk matters, systems, practices and controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to deal with a range of internal and external senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable with managing multiple priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detail and good analytics skills;
