The opportunity


This is an exciting time to be joining DFSV as they continue to be regarded as a leader in food regulation, enhance their industry reach and partnerships, drive greater collaboration internally and innovation in their technical and digital capability.


Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the Compliance, Enforcement and Technical Services team ensuring the development and implementation of DFSV's regulatory compliance monitoring and enforcement to ensure it remains effective and contemporary.

Additionally, you will be responsible for;

  • Supporting the CEO in the formulation and delivery of DFSV's strategic direction and overseeing the daytoday operations of the organisation.
  • Empowering the team and encouraging a cohesive and collaborative working environment between the teams and with the broader organisation.
  • Driving innovation across regulatory services, including compliance and enforcement processes.
  • Providing strategic leadership and advice to the Board through reports and presentations.
  • Liaise with key industry stakeholders both locally and nationally with aligned regulatory agencies, to drive greater collaboration.

About you
With proven leadership experience, you are considered a highly strategic leader with demonstrated experience in regulatory reform environments. You have successfully led multi-disciplinary teams and driven cultural change to enable agile and innovative working environments.

Ideally, you will have experience in implementing compliance or enforcement services across a diverse customer base and have a strong understanding interpreting legislation.

You are able to confidently think on your feet, lead change and are influential both internally and externally across government and industry to establish ongoing strategic partnerships and sector collaboration.

Known for your collaborative leadership style you bring an innovative and agile approach to ways of working.

Furthermore, you can demonstrate experience and confidence reporting to a Board and in managing the financial sustainably and corporate governance of your portfolio.

Exposure to the dairy industry including food safety standards, systems and legislation will be highly regarded.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as food safety, food technology, microbiology, public health or other relevant discipline would be highly regarded.
