The key goal of this role is to lead the incorporation of governance principles into responsible business practices and Financial Accountability (FAR), aiming to promote responsible leadership.

You will be accountable for

  • Guiding and supporting the executive team and their departments on responsible business practices and compliance with accountability requirements outlined in the FAR workplan.
  • Integrating governance and accountability standards into risk and governance frameworks, policies, processes, and procedures through collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Facilitating business committees to ensure efficient oversight, decision-making, and agility in achieving goals.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and tracking of the Governance and Accountability Policy, while supervising the review and delivery of engagement briefing sessions, workshops, and educational content to prepare for FAR compliance.
  • Deciphering legal, regulatory, and community expectations regarding corporate governance, accountability, and risk management, emphasizing equitable customer outcomes and sustainability. Communicating and involving others in the Responsible Business Strategy by creating presentations, plans, reports, and workshop materials, providing guidance, and nurturing trusted relationships throughout the organization for successful outcomes.
About you
  • Higher education qualifications in business, insurance, risk, legal, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in a regulatory, legal, governance, or risk position, ideally in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Background in local Banking Executive Accountability Regime, FAR readiness, or Senior Managers Regime (SMR) (equivalent to UK regulations).
  • Advanced consulting and influencing abilities, showcasing the capacity to collaboratively develop strategies and valuable analytical solutions with key business partners.
  • Proven track record in delivering wide-reaching, complex programs and working with executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of pertinent regulatory and legislative compliance requirements in the financial services realm, prior experience with regulatory transformations is advantageous.
