What you'll do
As the Research Facility Manager, you will coordinate, manage and oversee the operations of the Institute's research facilities.

In doing so, you will:

  • Manage and coordinate all Research Technical Officers within the Institute.
  • Develop, implement and oversee policies and procedures for effective facility, asset safety and operations management.
  • Manage project delivery for the acquisition, installation and commissioning of complex and/or bespoke research infrastructure.
  • Undertake risk assessments and manage noncompliance or potential risk issues within the research facilities.

What will help you succeed


Together with your relevant qualifications, you will be a self-starter with an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at both a University level and with external bodies.

Working in an engineering laboratory environment, technical know-how is a must, as is the ability to manage technical officers and laboratory staff.

You will be comfortable and capable of navigating policies and processes while designing and managing effective communication protocols, and undertaking a range of risk management, compliance and quality management and review activities.
