About the role:


The School is seeking an experienced and highly capable person to undertake the role of Education Support Officer in our Diverse Learning Needs team for Semester 2.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Working 1 on 1 or in small groups with students requiring learning support;
  • Providing assistance to teachers in mainstream classes, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy;
  • Assisting with case management of students with special needs, particularly those who need frequent intervention and monitoring in order to complete work;
  • Providing support to students with significant disabilities and/or complex needs;
  • Providing relevant and timely feedback about the general well being and behaviours of 'at risk' students; and
  • Assisting teachers to develop resources to better cater for students requiring additional support.

About you:

You will be an experienced and highly capable person able to demonstrate the following skills and personal qualities:

  • Experienced in working with adolescents and emerging young adults;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of disabilities and the various barriers that impact on student learning;
  • Hold a current National Criminal History Check Clearance, First Aid Certificate and Mandatory Notification training.
  • Be able to act as an advocate with students if necessary;
  • Be able to communicate sensitively and confidently with staff, parents and students;
  • Excellent communication, representation and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
