About the role


TAFE NSW is seeking casual Technical Assistant's Art (Music) to work in the Music teaching section at our Newcastle campus at Tighes Hill.


The Technical Assistant - Music is responsible for providing class servicing and high level technical advice to the Creative Industries sections.

In particular, this position provides on and off class support in the learning environment and is responsible for class preparation, storing and monitoring supplies.

Please note that this position may require some shift work, as well as evening work.

About You
To succeed in the role, you must have demonstrated skills and current experience in the Music industry.? ?

You will be required to use your strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and service providers.?

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate III Music Industry (Sound Production) or Certificate III Live Productions and Services, or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Awareness of workplace practices in order to ensure safety.
  • Experience in store procedures and stock controls.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and participate as a member of a team.
  • Ability to operate Mac based computer software packages.
