Boyup Brook District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate 0.2 FTE Auslan Teacher.

The successful applicant should be an innovative and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide quality teaching in the Languages curriculum area as part of dedicated team. They should be reflective practitioners who actively engage in activities to improve their professional practice. They will ideally possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be collaborative members of the whole school community, embracing the school's vision, values and strategic directions. They should have a passion for their curriculum area (Auslan) and an understanding of instructional strategies to effectively engage students in the learning process.

Boyup Brook is situated 270kms south of Perth and is in the stunning Blackwood Valley that has easy access to many tourist attractions and is in close proximity to the Greenbushes mine. The school has been an Independent Public School since 2012 and consists of approximately 50 secondary students and 120 primary students on split sites 700 metres apart. The school is highly valued by the local community which is predominately a farming community and has a strong reputation for providing a quality education with a strong sense of community. Strong relationships between students, parents, our community, and staff are key to our successes.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
