Your role
The Automation Manager leads the development and automation delivery of complex processes using automation tools.

The role is responsible for complex development and maintenance of the automated solutions by coordinating tasks, fixes issues or configuring automation tools with the assistance of the Automation Business Analyst.

The scope of work is for transactions processed by the Information & Digital Services IT Service Desk.

What you'll do


You will assume technical responsibility for all stages of the Automation development process to ensure requirements are documented and met.


You will also be responsible for:

  • Utilising technical expertise in the requirements analysis phase to ensure the solution is both fit for purpose and fit for use
  • Designing and executing acceptance testing to improve the quality and reduce operational risk of the automated process
  • Providing ongoing analysis and review of IT Service Desk processes to identify opportunities to improve and enhance automation
  • Monitoring the Automation effectiveness by continued reporting and trend analysis to ensure automation processes are achieving expected outcomes compared to manual processing
  • Contributing to the development, evaluation and implementation of automation policies, standards, processes, and procedures with the organisation to ensure compliance and reduce risk
  • Ensuring ServiceNow modules used by the IT Service Desk are utilised effectively and to the full potential of the product, ensuring knowledge and request forms are setup to aid in automation

What we're looking for

  • Proficiency in business analysis, system design, process reengineering and automation
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field and/or relevant experience
