This is your unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping policy advice and assisting in the implementation of Commonwealth Government reforms.

The role involves managing a small team in the provision of advice to Government (options/analysis), developing measures (e.g., through annual Budget and Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook processes), and implementing announced measures.

The key duties of the position include
The Director is expected to be able to:show leadership:encourage and motivate a team (Unit); be proactive, innovative, and inclusive; and foster an environment that encourages development and learning;

think critically:
assess the implications of policy and other developments and develop sound policy advice on complex issues;

engage and communicate effectively:
build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders;

navigate strategic context:
understand the policy landscape, identify opportunities, show good judgement, anticipate issues, and minimise risk;
identify priorities and plan the work of a unit:be responsive and flexible, and manage uncertainty and change; and

deliver results:
lead work to deliver timely and high-quality outcomes that influence policy makers and effectively implement the Government's decisions.
Desirable Qualifications / ExperienceCandidates with diverse experience and interests are encouraged to apply.
Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant field, including,but not limited to , economics, law, commerce, finance and/or public policy.
Experience inone or moreof the following will be particularly well-regarded:Government policy development and analysis.
Relevant private sector or regulatory experience in the tax or not for profit sectors or a related field.#J-18808-Ljbffr
