The Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (Victoria 2026) will deliver the Games.

Together between the State of Victoria, the Commonwealth Games Federation and Commonwealth Games Australia, it is tasked with organising a world-class event for athletes, spectators, locals and the Commonwealth of Nations.

About the Role
We have multiple roles available for Procurement Category Managers to join our Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games procurement team
The role will support the Director Procurement and Director of Supply Chain with the delivery of the procurement pipeline. This is a hands-on role which encompasses the full spectrum of tender activities from strategy development to contact award. It requires a person with a strong background in procurement, excellent commercial acumen and experience in contract management.
As a Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of procurements to meet time, budget, quality and resource parameters in accordance with professional practices, legislative requirements and Victoria 2026's Procurement Strategy, policies and procedures
  • Provide specialist advice on complex procurements including procurement led elements of sponsorship and procurement strategy options
  • Lead and assist in the effective negotiation of tenders to secure goods and services on the most advantageous value for money terms, via procurement strategies or value in kind sponsorship deals
  • Contribute to the maintenance of management reporting systems to track and manage procurement activities at project and functional level

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have an understanding of procurement principles, practices and techniques
  • Have proven experience in developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships and leading procurement processes
  • Have an understanding of one or more relevant procurement categories for the Commonwealth Games (including but not limited to games operations and services, marketing and communications, ceremonies and festivals, employees and volunteers, commercial activities and construction)
  • Have an understanding of relevant procurement regulations, policies, and procedures
