The Commonwealth Games - an international, multi-sport event involving athletes from the 72 member nations of the Commonwealth - is coming to Victoria in 2026.

Millions worldwide will watch the thriving regional centres of Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat, Gippsland and Shepparton host a jam-packed schedule of 20 sports, nine para sports, the Games ceremonies and festival program that together will showcase the best of Regional Victoria.

The Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (Victoria 2026) will deliver the Games.

Together between the State of Victoria, the Commonwealth Games Federation and Commonwealth Games Australia, it is tasked with organising a world-class event for athletes, spectators, locals and the Commonwealth of Nations.

About the Role
An exciting role to join our Procurement team as Procurement Officer.

You will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking procurement events including identifying suppliers and mitigating risks associated with procurement activities.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and provide advice as the first point of contact for all external enquiries.
  • Ensuring that procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as functional area leads, finance, legal, and contract management.
  • Generating reports on procurement activities and performance metrics to inform decisionmaking and provide transparency.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience adapting quickly to changing processes, priorities and situations
  • The ability to articulate effectively how work, policies and services fit into the organisation's objectives;
  • Experience seeking resolution for problems through policy or process guidelines.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and engagement; proven success in adding value to clients which result in stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Execution of work tasks against plans in sometimes ambiguous situations
  • Prioritising tasks in line with their urgency and impact; maintenance of accurate project records.
  • Experience in public sector procurement including policies, processes and systems would be highly regarded.
