Our Corporate Services Division is currently seeking an Executive Director Communications to lead the development and implementation of a range of communication and stakeholder strategies to support the operations of the Department.

As the Executive Director Communications, you will provide expert corporate affairs and communications advice to the Secretary and Departmental Executives in relation to broad strategic and operational issues to improve the quality of targeted communication and to contribute to meeting Departmental strategic outcomes.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have strong leadership skills with proven capabilities to lead a team with direction and purpose whilst energising them to deliver on transformation and consistent BAU delivery. You will also be capable of influencing across a broad cross section of stakeholders about controversial topics the State Government is currently dealing with.

It is essential that you have extensive experience in leading and managing strategic communications, media relations, digital and social media in a large and complex organisation. You will also possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages and deliver clear, concise and compelling information to different audiences and channels.

Sound knowledge and understanding of the NSW planning system, housing and infrastructure sectors, and the relevant policy and legislative frameworks will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
