The Opportunity:

Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) - CCU Preston

A rewarding leadership opportunity exists for a Grade 3 Registered Psychiatric Nurse - ANUM at Northern Community Care Unit (CCU)

The ANUM reports and will work closely to the Program Manager via the Team Leader in managing the nursing and clerical resources available to the CCU and sets the clinical standards to achieve a high quality of service delivery for all consumers and carers. The position requires active daily leadership that promotes the culture of CCU being a desirable place to work by being supportive of your colleagues, providing expert guidance and seeking solutions to issues that are faced.

To be successful in this role you will:

Applying the combination of experience and leadership, the ANUM will:

  • Demonstrate and role model your ability to provide expert nursing knowledge and skills in the application of the recovery and wellness framework; conducting comprehensive assessments, planning implementation, monitoring and ongoing evaluation of treatment and recovery.
  • Demonstrate your clinical expertise in risk assessment, management and decision making in the delivery of treatment and interventions to clients, maximizing participation in collaborative client focused recovery and wellness planning. Management of risk is formulated and clearly communicated in shift to shift handover.
  • Demonstrate evidence-based care when working in partnership with consumers, carers, families and the wider multidiscipline team in all aspects of care to ensure maximizing participation in collaborative recovery and wellness planning framework.
  • Demonstrate ability to escalate, communicate, seek solutions or problem solve CCU operational issues on a day by day basis with the Program Manager, Team Leader or Lead Consultant.
  • Demonstrated working understanding of the Mental health Act and other legislation relevant to Public Mental health Services
  • Participate and provide expert nursing leadership in clinical review meetings, handovers, staff meetings and other relevant professional forums ensuring it is adhering to TNH policy and procedures and professional standards.
  • Participate working a rotating roster and night shifts.
