About the Department of Education
The Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population.
This is an exciting time to join the Service Experience team as we look to the future, knowing that service delivery and the way we all access, design and build support services will be fundamentally different from today.
About the role
In Service Experience, we're listening to the voice of school colleagues, understanding their needs, and co-designing solutions to create and deliver support services that meet school needs.
On a daily basis, you will;
- Lead and manage a team including work allocation, capability development & performance management
- Lead the design of service architecture infrastructure and deliverables
- Provide expert service and business architecture advice, support and recommendations
- Develop and maintain frameworks that help facilitate management of the Department's service portfolio
- Lead and promote service design processes and culture that drive user centric decision making
- Provide expert advice and information to the Director on emerging project, policy and governance issues
- Identify, establish and maintain collaborative and effective relationships
- Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required
Essential requirements of the role
- Tertiary qualifications in business, project management or relevant discipline and/or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Successful stakeholder management experience
- Internal and external parties: balancing demand and competing resource and capacity constraints
- Strong experience in organisational capability and design in a Support Services/Corporate Services environment
- Strong knowledge of service design, business analysis and product management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Be resilient and persistent
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
