We are currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant for our client that is a global freight forwarding company in Sydney.

You will be responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable Function in a timely manner and effective manner liaising with customers - both internal and external in regards to invoices and payments.

Office Location:
Alexandria, Sydney

Working Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (including 1 hour lunch break)

Key activities:

  • Daily banking of payments by customers(preparation of deposit slips only)
  • Allocating payments from customers on a daily basis (cheques and EFT)
  • Allocating payments from overseas agents
  • Preparing payments to overseas agents
  • Attending to customer enquiries regarding accounts and providing documents when necessary
  • Reconciling customer accounts
  • Generate ageing reports and follow up overdue accounts
  • Generating monthly statement of account for domestic and international customers (age receivables and collections)
  • Providing office support and assistance to the team and accounting manager
  • Other duties as required and reasonably requested by the manager/ supervisor

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced excel skills
  • CargoWise experience is a bonus (training will be provided)
  • 1 2 years of experience in Accounts receivable in Australia
  • Sound knowledge of organizational accounting procedures related to work performed
  • Understanding of spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures
  • Strong administrative and procedural skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organization and communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work under pressure
  • Team player
