How will I help?

As a Manager within Enterprise Compliance, you will report to the Chief Privacy Officer, supporting the implementation of the Group's strategy for compliance with the privacy obligations. That strategy integrates privacy within the Group's strategic and business priorities, including alignment with the Group's approach to data and records management. Effective implementation of the Group's strategy maintains trust and confidence of customers, employees and others who entrust their personal information with the Westpac Group. Using your legal background and knowledge of privacy regulatory landscape, you will work closely with the business as a trusted advisor, simplifying complex messages to the business to identify privacy risk and influence constructive outcomes. Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Maintenance of effective frameworks, standards, and policies
  • Provide Privacy compliance advice to support effective compliance.
  • Assist business units with development of tools and methodologies to ensure on-going compliance.
  • Assess processes with focus on effectiveness, simplification, and cost.
  • Effective escalation and reporting of privacy issues.

What do I need?

You will have a background in law or and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the privacy risk regulatory framework in Australia. With excellent stakeholder management skills, you will have a track record of developing trusted relationships, working closely with the business to simplify complex messages and manage privacy risk. With the ability to multitask with competing priorities whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, you will be knowledgeable with technology, trends and the impact on privacy and data records.
