About the role:

As the People and Culture Advisor, you will be a true HR Generalist.

Working closely with the State Operations Manager and Branch Managers, your role will be hands on and see you involved in the day-to-day operations of the South East QLD business, supporting approximately 150 employees plus 22 subcontracting crews.


Key Responsibilities;

  • Provide timely HR advice, support and consultancy to Managers and employees
  • Workforce planning and labour forecasting
  • Provide workforce reporting to managers as required
  • Facilitate disciplinary conversation and processes ensuring best practice, compliance and legislative requirements are adhered to
  • Be responsible for the end to end recruitment process of allocated white collar positions
  • Liaise with the Return to Work and Injury Management Officer to support the field employees through Workcover processes
  • Willingness to travel to branches to attend toolbox meetings and meetings as required from Sunshine Coast to Northern Rivers (Cents per KM travel reimbursement)
  • Ensure alignment of the vision and values of Buildsafe in relation to the development of People and Culture strategies

Selection Criteria;

  • Demonstrated experience in a Generalist role (minimum of 2 years)
  • Tertiary qualification (desirable)
  • Previous Employee Relations and industrial Relations experience within the blue collar space
  • Coaching skills at both an organisational and individual level
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities of the organisation
  • A proactive, professional and customer focussed approach with the ability to influence and negotiate effective outcomes whilst positively contributing to a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of and complete commitment to confidentiality
  • True culture carrier and leader
  • Strong computer, analytical and problemsolving skills
