Senior Clinical/Health Psychologist (Grade 4) – Psychology Service

Permanent Part time role

About the Role

This is a permanent part time position at 30.4 hours per fortnight within the Psychology Service (outpatient paediatric psychology team).

You will be responsible for providing quality, evidence-based clinical psychology assessment and intervention for children and families attending Royal Children's Hospital regularly for medical appointments. You will also provide clinical supervision for postgraduate students, registrars and psychologists.

Classification for this position will range from Grade 4 Year 1 – Grade 4 Year 5

What you'll achieve:


• High quality evidence-based care for children and families at RCH

• Highly developed clinical supervision skills

• Expertise in the intersection between medical conditions and mental health

Your skills and experience


• A masters/doctoral degree in clinical or health psychology from an APAC accredited university

• At least 8 years of experience post-graduation

• Expertise in working with children, young people and their families

• Knowledge of and experience working with children with chronic medical conditions

• Board approved supervisor

About the Department

The Psychology Service is an outpatient team that provides quality evidence-based assessment and intervention for regular patients of the Royal Children's Hospital. Presentations include medical trauma, procedural anxiety, adjustment disorder, somatising disorders, and other complex mental health diagnoses secondary to (or exacerbating) a medical condition.
