About the Role:

This is a Fixed Term, Full-Time position to cover leave, at 80 per fortnight within the Gatehouse Centre's community services in Werribee and Melton, and at RCH Parkville.

You will provide therapeutic and support services within a trauma model of recovery, for children and young people who have experienced sexual violence, or have engaged in harmful or problematic sexual behaviour, and their non-offending family members. You will also be responsible for contributing to the Intake Team by receiving and responding to referrals for service, inquiries regarding child sexual abuse, harmful sexual behaviour and crisis care presentations and be required to participate in the after-hours crisis care roster.

Classification for this position will range from Social Worker Grade 2, Years 1-4 (SC21 – SC24), Psychology Grade 2, Years 1-4 (PK1 – PK4), or Occupational Therapy Grade 2, Years 1-4 (VF6 – VF9).

  • Delivery of quality and evidence-based assessment, therapeutic interventions and support for children/young people who have experienced sexual violence or engaged in harmful/problematic sexual behaviour and their family members
  • Contribution to a culture of open and effective communication, team work and lifelong learning
  • Development and maintenance of positive relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Recognised qualification in relevant discipline with current Board registration/eligibility for membership with professional body
  • Satisfaction of relevant discipline's continuing professional development standards
  • A commitment to ethical practice

About the Department

Gatehouse Centre is a department of the Royal Children's Hospital and a Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA) - a specialist sexual assault service.

The Gatehouse Centre provides therapeutic interventions and support for Children and young people aged 0-17 and their non-offending family member and carers living in the Brimbank Melton or Western Melbourne areas (Moonee Valley, Maribyrnong, Melbourne Hobsons Bay and Wyndham LGAs) or who are inpatients at the The Royal Children's Hospital. Services are provided at the Centre's community outreach services in Melton, Werribee and at the RCH.
