Project Officer role specialising in Construction Capital Works and Maintenance:
Permanent full-time opportunity, Sydney location, hybrid working environment:
Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $101,947 to $112,849 + super
Our NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) team is currently seeking to appoint a
Project Officer within the Housing Services Team (Teaching and NSW Police Force Housing) to undertake a range of asset management functions related to the delivery of construction (capital works and maintenance), refurbishment and capital upgrade projects across the rural and regional portfolio.
The appointed person will need to be able to provide advice on technical-related matters across the portfolio and act like an autonomous client-side project manager.
Along with managing construction and refurbishment capex works, the role is responsible for managing and advising on minimum building and asset standards including furniture standards, materials, and aesthetics, and driving innovation in facilities management and building/construction.
Further, the purpose of the role is to oversee and take responsibility for the continued management of multiple projects while updating a variety of stakeholders during all stages of the project's construction lifecycle.
About You
You'll have experience from the construction industry and project and development management to coordinate people to deliver projects within agreed budgets and timeframes in locations that are often remote and difficult to service.
You're used to travelling to these rural and remote locations and are well-versed in managing your time around travel commitments.
Managing competing priorities of existing and new projects, program management and implementation, and BAU is crucial to the success of this role.
You're a strong individual contributor and can work autonomously as well as part of a wider team environment.You'll be used to working in a client-facing environment where key stakeholder engagement will be the key to your success in this role.
You ideally possess program management experience and are familiar with engaging with consultants and specialist experts to achieve a common goal.
You know your way around systems, processes, and procedures and how to improve them to create efficiencies in your projects and workload.
You have strength in conflict resolution and are able to prioritise competing needs, while still meeting the administrative workload associated with budgetary, contractual, and procurement processes.
Essential Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's licence and be able to travel to remote and rural locations from time to time, at short notice
- NSW White Card.

A key feature is the Communities Plus program, which is designed to fast-track the redevelopment of LAHC's social housing portfolio in partnership with the private and community housing sector to deliver significant new and replacement social housing dwellings that are integrated with affordable private dwellings.
