As part of this work, WESP prepares government responses to strategic issues, undertakes policy projects across government on issues of significance and leads intergovernmental relations by supporting the representation of the Minister and senior executives on high level national committees, such as Safe Work Australia.
WESP is made up of several teams, each with its own managerial support that focus on a range of priorities including legislative review, tackling emerging policy problems in the socioeconomic realm, and translating high level policy into operational implementation.
The Director, Emergent & Environment WHS Policy is responsible for the successful delivery of their component of the policy program currently set for , specifically focusing on national and emergent policy problems.
You will provide leadership and strategic direction to the project teams, you will provide support and advice on critical matters, and report directly to the Executive Director, Policy and Workplace Services.
